Beckwith Tech Camp
Beckwith Tech Camp was created in 2016 with Rob More’s dream of providing STEAM education to the youth of the Counties of Lanark and Leeds-Grenville in an inclusive, equitable and cost effective manner. Through the seven years of its existence, 276 youth participated representing all socioeconomic status, gender, race, and identities. The camp is particularly proud of the fact that 57% of participants were female and over 23 individuals identified having a disability.
Beckwith Tech Camp was also supported by Hackergal, Shopify, the Univ. of Waterloo, Beckwith Township, Montague Township, Steampunk Robotics, Carleton Place Computers and Lanark County during its existence. The camp also provided employment and references to 10 youth and a forum for participants to show their work. All profits from the camp were given to the Rural FASD Support Network to further support youth with disabilities. Through the generosity of Lanark County and Beckwith Township, this legacy website is free for your use.
